May and I, together with our sister and brothers had a good upbringing – we were not rich, but our parents did the best they could and we were always a close knit family. The best memories I have are Sunday get togethers at our parent’s house when we had a family meal and afterwards the grownups would play cards (only for pennies!). The best memory of all was Christmas Day when all the family got together, including our favourite aunts, uncles and cousins and we had old fashioned family knees up. May was not only my older sister but also my friend – we got closer as we grew up and before her illness we would spend time together shopping, meals out and going on holidays. I always thought that when I retired we would go places together, but this was not meant to be and I miss her very much
